Full-time and Office based

Reporting Line: Warranty Manager

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service through exceptional workmanship by providing fast and accurate diagnostics and repair of IT hardware. 

The candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and be able to work diligently and accurately using their developed problem-solving skills to ensure optimal workshop functionality, whilst aintaining effective turnaround times and service levels.

Key Responsibilities

This role requires a qualified Computer Technician to assess, diagnose, and repair IT Hardware and related equipment. 

  • Desktop repairs – Hardware troubleshooting & repairs to desktop systems
  • Accurately diagnose and assess repair required
  • Complete component testing, completing repairs and/or replacements as required 
  • Diagnose and complete Notebook, Mobile and Tablet phone repairs
  • Conduct Peripheral testing for vendor escalation including printers, digital cameras, CCTV and POS
  • Conduct Software recovery & repairs (including all OS’s)
  • Troubleshoot communications devices including network LAN’s and WAN’s
  • Maintain job card updates 
  • Provide and manage customer feedback on repairs
  • Provide both telephonic and on-site support to customers and managers

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 3 years of IT technical experience
  • Sound understanding of networking
  • Solid Windows operating system (OS) knowledge.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows processing hardware
  • Experience working in a customer services environment will be an advantage 

Skills and Education:

  • Matric 
  • A+
  • Driver's license
  • Must be able to troubleshoot communications devices
  • Excellent computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint 
  • Able to work in a well-organized, efficient, and meticulous manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, writing skills, and people skills are required.
  • Excellent IT technical skills are required.
