Role Description

Location: Cape Town,  South Africa

Full-time and Office based

Reporting Line: Warehouse Manager

Job Purpose

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for efficiently managing the flow of raw materials and products into our
organization. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely receipt of goods, accuracy in inventory
control, and compliance with all relevant regulations, contributing to the seamless operation of our supply
chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the receipt and inspection of inbound shipments
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming materials and products
  • Collaborate with suppliers and carriers to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure optimal stock rotation
  • Identify and report discrepancies, damages, or quality issues with received goods
  • Monitor and comply with relevant customs and import regulations
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to optimize purchasing and replenishment processes
  • Execute and manage the returns process for defective or excess goods
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in inbound logistics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any inbound logistics issues
  • Provide regular reports on inbound logistics performance

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management
  • Previous experience in handling inbound logistics and inventory control
  • Working experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Familiarity with relevant inventory management software and tools

 

Skills and Education:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and other relevant software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Organized, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management and time management skills
