Job Purpose
The Barracuda Product Manager will lead the strategy, positioning, and overall management of
Barracuda's product portfolio within the distribution network. This role requires a strong understanding of
cybersecurity products, a sales-oriented mindset, and the ability to collaborate closely with both internal
teams and Barracuda to achieve mutual growth goals. The Product Manager will act as the primary
advocate for Barracuda within Pinnacle and be responsible for market share growth, partner enablement,
and revenue targets.
Recruitment Specialist
- Define and drive the Barracuda product strategy within the distribution network
- Develop go-to-market plans for each product line, aligning with Barracuda’s objectives and local market needs
- Collaborate with Barracuda’s sales, marketing, and technical teams to align on strategy, product positioning, and messaging
- Establish and execute sales plans to meet and exceed sales targets for Barracuda products
- Support sales teams in creating and executing strategic account plans
- Build and maintain relationships with key channel partners to drive sales opportunities
- Review pipeline and sales performance regularly, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve revenue goals
- Provide training, technical enablement, and support to channel partners, ensuring they are well-equipped to sell and support Barracuda products
- Organize and deliver product presentations, webinars, and workshops for channel partners
- Develop partner incentives and promotional activities in collaboration with Barracuda and the distributor's marketing teams
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Barracuda’s product portfolio, including technical features, value propositions, and competitive differentiators
- Act as a subject matter expert on Barracuda products, providing pre-sales and post-sales support to channel partners
- Work with the technical teams to troubleshoot issues and provide high-level support for partners and customers
- Conduct regular market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitor positioning
- Use insights to refine strategies, drive new initiatives, and support sales and marketing efforts
- Provide feedback to Barracuda on market demands, customer feedback, and product improvements
- Provide regular updates and reports on product performance, channel engagement, sales activities, and key wins
- Track and manage budgets for product marketing activities, ensuring spend aligns with objectives
- Maintain accurate records of all activities, sales forecasts, and partner engagement in CRM systems
Experience and Knowledge:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a product management or channel management role within the IT, cybersecurity, or related tech industry
- Proven track record of managing vendor-distributor relationships and achieving sales targets
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity products and solutions, ideally with experience in email and network security
Skills and Education:
- Matric with mathematics is essential
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, IT, or related field; relevant certifications in
cybersecurity or IT will be advantageous - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Analytical skills for assessing market trends and product performance
- Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with sales and marketing automation tools
- Must understand the IT market and the specific needs of the different market segments (select resellers, resellers, and end-users)
- Good administration skills
- Ability to create, update, and use data in a spreadsheet as well as to analyze, interpret, and use reports (for stock management, product reordering, ageing stock, etc)
