Role Description

Location: Midrand, South Africa

Full-time and Office based

Reporting Line: Business Unit Manager

Job Purpose

Based at the Pinnacle Head Office in Midrand and reporting to the Head of Pre-Sales and Architecting, the
successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the Enterprise portfolio strategy by leveraging their
technical expertise to advise customers, design integrated solutions, and contribute to achieving revenue
and profit targets.
Acting as a technology evangelist, trusted advisor, and thought leader, they will communicate the Pinnes
vision through direct customer engagement. The role’s primary focus will be on private and hybrid cloud,
server and storage technologies, networking, backup, and application virtualization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve relevant industry certifications and ensure they remain current
  • Represent Pinnes and/or vendors at customer engagements and conferences
  • Assist with customer enablement to drive the Pinnes portfolio value proposition
  • Coach and support fellow Pre-Sales engineers and Sales personnel who are new to the Pinnes portfolio
  • Deliver vendor presentations and training to Pinnacle sales teams and the customer landscape
  • Propose and professionally demonstrate Pinnes portfolio products and solutions through presentations, whiteboarding, demos, and "proof-of-concepts"
  • Collaborate in the creation and presentation of business cases to key stakeholders (e.g., Clevel executives, technical partners) in support of solutions
  • Evangelize the Pinnes portfolio through active customer engagement
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to both colleagues and customers
  • Stay informed on industry trends and the latest developments in the Pinnes product portfolio
  • Build an internal and external business network to ensure sales success and enhance the customer experience
  • Participate in tender evaluations, product/solution recommendations, and pricing
  • Price products and solutions accurately according to vendor or customer requirements
  • Support the achievement of Pinnes portfolio revenue and profit targets

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Design infrastructure solutions with 3+ years of experience
  • Demonstrate a successful track record in technical pre-sales of enterprise infrastructure and software
  • Apply a strong background and understanding of enterprise storage, servers, backup, networking, virtualization, converged, hyper-converged, and cloud infrastructures
  • Showcase demonstrable knowledge of enterprise solution design considerations and tools
  • Utilize above-average computer literacy in MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

 

Skills and Education:

  • Matric with mathematics is essential and a relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
  • Appropriate accreditation/certification including one or more convergence technology
  • Technology evangelist with the ability to connect and work with stakeholders across all levels, including C-level
  • Presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal business communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
  • Good time management and well organized i.e., deadline driven, able to plan and prioritize high workload
