Operations Assitant 

Role Description

Location: Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa

Full-time and Office based

Reporting Line: Operations Manager: Dell 

Job Purpose

This is an internal operations position that is primarily focused on customer service and order processing. The primary responsibilities include the placing of purchase orders, price agreement management, creating warranty quotations, ensuring daily deliveries are in order, following up on invoices and any outstanding documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to the Dell Product team
  • Provide IP to Product Managers for stock orders
  • Processing of orders
  • Managing of ETA’s and orders placed
  • Follow up on outstanding warranty quotes and convert them to orders
  • Liaise with Stores/Dispatch regarding deliveries of all orders, supply of invoices of partners for direct deliveries
  • Assist Sales with PO and ETA with queries
  • Assist with any other queries relating to the back-office procedures
  • Assist the Enterprise Product team with day-to-day administration tasks
  • Continuous self-training required on product portfolio to offer further opportunities
  • Compiling of various reports to submit to Vendor and internal
  • Support Product Managers with Sage updating and maintenance

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ IT related experience
  • Distribution experience is advantageous
  • Working experience in a customer service environment
  • Experience working in an administration position
  • Knowledge and understanding of the ICT market will be advantageous 

 

Skills and Education:

  • Matric with mathematics is essential
  • A tertiary degree/diploma is essential, a Sales & Marketing or IT qualification will be
    advantageous
  • Intermediate computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Be able to work in a pressured environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong administration skills
  • Attention to detail i.e. meticulous
  • High level of customer service
  • Intermediate understanding of Finance
