Job Purpose

The Data Scientist (AI) will focus on developing and implementing AI-driven solutions to address complex business challenges. This role requires a blend of strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and a passion for leveraging data to create impactful AI models and insights. 

This role will need to collaborate with product design and engineering teams to develop an understanding of needs, research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis and communicate these findings to all stakeholders. They will be required to enable smarter business processes by using analytics for meaningful insights and keep current with technical and industry developments.

• Design, build, and deploy machine learning and AI models to solve business problems and drive decision-making processes.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and optimize algorithms to enhance model performance, accuracy, and scalability.
• Serve as lead data strategist to identify and integrate new datasets that can be leveraged through our product capabilities, and work closely with the engineering team in the development of data products.
• Clean, preprocess, and engineer features from raw data to prepare it for modelling and analysis.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business analysts, to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and data science, exploring new techniques, tools, and methodologies to improve model effectiveness and innovation.
• Execute analytical experiments to help solve problems across various domains and industries.
• Create and present clear, compelling visualizations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Analyze data for trends and patterns, and interpret data with clear objectives in mind.
• Perform rigorous testing and validation of models to ensure their robustness and reliability in real-world scenarios.
• Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big-data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.

Experience and Knowledge:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a data scientist or in a similar role, with a focus on AI and machine learning.
• Two or more years of project management experience.
• Experience with data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, RAG, Splunk, Databricks, Elastic, Spark, etc).
• Knowledge of industry-based:

• • AI Platforms (e.g., Nvidia, Intel, OpenShift AI, Kubernetes, etc)
  • Models (HuggingFace, Nvidia, Llama, GPT, TensorRT, etc)
  • Frameworks (Nvidia AI Enterprise, Intel, Cuda, Morpheus, NeMo, etc)
  • AI Infrastructure (DELL AI Factory, SuperMicro, Nutanix AI, etc)

• Advanced knowledge of statistical and algorithmic models as well as of fundamental mathematical concepts, such as linear algebra and probability.

Skills and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field. Advanced Degree (Masters or Ph.D.) is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in AI/ML or data science.
• Vendor Specific Professional Level Certification is an advantage (Huawei, Alcatel-lucent, Ruckus, DELL, Nutanix).
• Proficiency with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, SQL, R, or similar languages.
• Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets to extract actionable insights and drive strategic decisions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of developing innovative solutions to complex data challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
