Business Developement Manager: Huawei

Role Description

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Full-time and Office based, with extensive travel

Reporting Line: rand Executive and Enterprise
Lead Cape Town

Job Purpose

As the successful candidate, you will play a pivotal role in executing and furthering the Huawei client base
by leveraging your business development expertise to identify new business opportunities, forge strategic
partnerships, expand market presence, and assist in meeting revenue and profit targets.


You will function as a technology evangelist and thought leader who delivers the Pinnacle message
through regular vendor and customer engagement. The primary focus of your role will revolve around
maintaining the relationships and generating additional sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy Development and Execution
  • Understand the development strategy for the vendor and implement it in the relevant sector
  • Increase customer coverage and breadth for vendor and Pinnacle
  • Increase vendor product coverage
  • Increase geographic coverage for vendor
  • Define and document a development plan with each partner and focus on the execution
  • Review and amend the plan quarterly
  • Present status of the development plan back to the vendor
  • Training and up-skilling of external partners and internal Pinnacle staff
  • Develop partners to grow sales and Pre-Sales resources internally
  • Training on vendor sales tools
  • Training on vendor processes and systems
  • Managing minimum certification level of partners
  • Involving partners in vendor training and events
  • Ensure operational excellence of vendor within the partner
  • The ability to assess the competitive landscape, identify market gaps, and differentiate Pinnacles offerings
  • Drive the timeous placement of orders on the vendor
  • Prepare quotations quickly and accurately
  • Support credit process, ensuring that credits are passed by the vendor and to reseller/partner
  • Effectively communicate ETA and delivery information to the partner
  • Escalate partner operational issues to vendor and focus on resolution
  • Aligning vendor resources to partner
  • Manage stakeholder collaboration ensuring that stakeholders at the vendor interface with stakeholders at the partner at the following levels: Technical, Presales, Sales, Management and Marketing
  • Collaborate with the partner to drive marketing initiatives on behalf of the vendor, these initiatives may include:
    Marketing events,Tele-campaigns,
    Internal incentives and  Promotion of vendor events,
  • Driving vendor GTMs with the partner and ensuring focus on the GTMs
  • Manage the deal registration process as per vendor expectations
  • Margin management (ensuring the integrity of channel pricing)
  • Vendor sales funnel management & reporting funnel to vendor
  • Vendor relationship management
  • Making sure that relationships are maintained with key vendor contacts
  • Ensure sales strategy aligns with vendor product focus.
  • Take ultimate responsibility for the revenue target allocated to the partner.
  • Drive Pinnacle product focus within each respective partner.
  • Be the custodian of the vendor relationship at the partner.
  • Ensure that vendors’ products are top of mind with all key stakeholders within the partner.
  • Analyze market segments and develop marketing strategies to build product demand by creating effective solutions and awareness of the product and brand.
  • Provide marketing plans and GTM plans for the Sales team.
  • Consult with the vendor and industry to understand product and market trends and amend plans accordingly to ensure efficient product life cycle management and maximize opportunities.
  • Ensure that customer-related queries are effectively dealt with and solved.
  • Assist the team with other related functions when and where required.
  • Submit Weekly/Monthly/quarterly reports as required by management, vendors, and analysts.

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ of experience in a similar position
  • Enterprise industry experience is non-negotiable and a pre-requisite
  • IT Distribution experience is a necessity
  • Knowledge of the IT market, reseller channels, marketing, and promotional strategies is essential
  • Understanding of the IT industry and OEM channel is preferred
  • Prior experience working with Huawei Enterprise products would be an advantage
  • Having worked for a vendor would be an advantage

  • Matric with mathematics is essential
  • Analytical thinker with strong planning and execution skills
  • Excellent customer engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Sales closing skills are essential
  • Must be able to confidently prepare and present in front of large audiences
  • Must have excellent attention to details
  • Excellent time management and well organized i.e., deadline driven, able to plan and prioritize a high workload
  • Excellent computer literacy in MS Office, advanced Excel capabilities
  • Excellence orientation
  • Proven history in achieving targets and growing into new sectors
