Job Purpose

The purpose of a Brand Manager is to champion the brand both internally and externally, driving
initiatives that enhance its identity, relevance, and connection with consumers. Serving as the primary
advocate for Pinnacle's brands, the Brand Manager will focus on growing market share, empowering
partners, and achieving revenue targets. By strategically managing the brand's identity and
perception, they play a vital role in ensuring the long-term success and growth of Pinnacle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive product strategy with the vendor in the Security Surveillance &
    Infrastructure (SSI) sector:
    o Increase customer coverage/count for the vendor
    o Increase vendor product coverage for the vendor
    o Expand geographic coverage for the vendor
  • Create go-to-market plans for each product/solution line, aligning with vendor objectives and local market requirements
  • Collaborate with vendors’ sales, marketing, and technical teams to align strategy, product positioning, and messaging both internally and externally
  • Establish and execute sales plans to meet and exceed sales targets for the vendors
  • Support sales teams in creating and executing strategic account plans
  • Build and maintain relationships with key channel partners to drive sales opportunities
  • Review pipeline and sales performance regularly, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve revenue goals
  • Provide training, technical enablement, and support to channel partners to ensure they are well-equipped to sell and support SSI products
  • Organize and deliver product presentations, webinars, and workshops for channel partners
  • Develop partner incentives and promotional activities in collaboration with vendors and Pinnacle marketing teams
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of vendors’ product portfolio, including technical features, value propositions, and competitive differentiators
  • Act as a subject matter expert on SSI products, providing pre-sales and post-sales support to channel partners
  • Work with technical teams to troubleshoot issues and provide high-level support for partners and customers
  • Conduct regular market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitor positioning
  • Use insights to refine strategies, drive new initiatives, and support sales and marketing efforts
  • Provide feedback to vendors on market demands, customer feedback, and product improvements
  • Submit regular updates and reports on product performance, channel engagement, sales activities, and key wins
  • Track and manage budgets for product marketing activities, ensuring alignment with objectives set out between Pinnacle and the vendor
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities, sales forecasts, and partner engagement in CRM systems
  • Manage minimum certification levels for partners and key stakeholders within Pinnacle
  • Involve partners in vendor training and events
  • Place orders timeously and accurately
  • Provide fast and accurate quotes
  • Ensure stakeholders at the vendor interface with stakeholders at the partner at various levels, including:                                                      oTechnical
    oPresales
    oSales
    oManagement
    oMarketing
  • Collaborate with partners to drive marketing initiatives on behalf of the vendor, including:
    oMarketing events
    oTele-campaigns
    oInternal incentives
    oPromotion of vendor events
    oDriving vendor GTMs with partners and ensuring focus on these initiatives
  • Manage deal registration proactively and maintain it
  • Oversee margin management to ensure the integrity of channel pricing
  • Track vendor sales funnel and report on the funnel to the vendor
  • Liaise with vendors and industry stakeholders to understand product and market trends, adjusting plans accordingly for efficient product lifecycle management
  • Communicate product and market strategy, objectives, and technical requirements clearly to all stakeholders
  • Develop a strategic account management plan for all channel partners, presenting it quarterly as part of review meetings
  • Monitor inventory to meet key performance indicators (inventory turns, stock aging, stock days, obsolescence, stock-outs)
  • Negotiate and manage targets, rebates, co-op marketing funds, stock rotation, pricing, and supply agreements
  • Handle backorders and warranty returns efficiently
  • Resolve customer-related queries effectively
  • Assist the team with related functions as required
  • Submit reports as required by management, vendors, and analysts

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of working experience within the security surveillance
    environment
  • Previous IT distribution experience
  • A thorough understanding of the security surveillance and infrastructure industry
  • Proven ability to meet weekly and/or monthly targets
  • Experience dealing with people at all levels, including high-profile clients and large projects
  • Attend and present product training

  • Matric with Mathematics
  • A sales and marketing tertiary qualification and/or relevant diploma is essential
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
