Job Purpose
The job purpose of an Assistant Dell Product Manager is to support the team in the development, marketing, and management of Dell's product portfolio. Their primary responsibilities include assisting with product research and analysis, coordinating product launches and promotions, managing inventory levels, and supporting sales and marketing efforts.
They work closely with cross-functional teams such as product development, marketing, sales, and supply chain to ensure the successful execution of product strategies and initiatives. Additionally, they are involved in gathering and analyzing market data, monitoring competitors, and identifying opportunities for product improvement or expansion. Overall, the Assistant Dell Product Manager plays a crucial role in helping to drive the success and profitability of Dell's product offerings.
Recruitment Specialist
- Provide reports and target tracking information
- Engage, communicate with and collaborate with all relevant parties at Pinnacle and Subsidiary companies
- Implement Pinnacle strategy and policies in alignment with products
- Provide product support (PDF Spec Sheets, Web Info, Sales Support, Customer Support-
Systems Integrators) - Update pricing, products and positioning on the Web Page
- Assist Sales teams with quotations
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to Sales staff
- Stay updated with all developments and trends in the market
- Assist with product codes, pricelists on system and costing
- Attend weekly sales meetings and assist in resolving stock issues
- Drive active and aging stock
- Assist the logistics and warehouse teams with vendor recalls
- Process sales orders and purchase orders on ERP system from local and international
suppliers - Assist in order managing process to maintain service and stock levels
- Manage rebates and incentives from suppliers
- Liaise with suppliers for promotional funds and materials
- Maintain relationships with customers to understand their requirements and incorporate into the stock forecasting
Experience and Knowledge:
- 3-5 years’ working experience in Distribution, preferably IT Distribution
- Knowledge and understanding of the Dell Commercial Range and value proposition will be very
beneficial - Understanding the IT market and the specific needs around the different market segments
(sub-distributors, select resellers, resellers and end-users) - In-depth understanding of continuous development on product knowledge will be very
advantageous - Spreadsheet knowledge in drawing up and utilizing reports (stock management, product
reordering, ageing stock etc) - Experience in working with technology roadmaps
- Understanding logistical processes
Skills and Education:
- Matric with mathematics is essential
- Sales and Marketing tertiary qualification and/or a relevant diploma will be an advantage
- Good administration skills
